The National Park Foundation and L.L.Bean Bring National Parks to the SXSW 2024 Stage

The two organizations will discuss innovative solutions to meet the needs of national parks and park visitors in the future

WASHINGTON, DC — The National Park Foundation and L.L.Bean are honored to have their panel submission, “Reimagining America’s National Parks,” selected to be featured at SXSW 2024.

The Foundation’s president and CEO Will Shafroth will host a fireside chat alongside a leader from corporate partner, L.L.Bean to discuss the challenges facing America’s more than 420 national park sites and the solutions they are investing in together to reimagine the ways people experience parks today and in the future.

Together, the two leaders will offer insights into the role innovation can play in addressing emerging challenges facing America’s national parks:

  • Addressing rapidly increasing annual visitation numbers to ensure enhanced visitor experience while protecting these American treasures;
  • Reimagining how new audiences experience national parks;
  • Leveraging public-private partnerships to harness the power of technology and innovation to expand park accessibility and minimize visitor impact; and more.

The National Park Foundation and L.L.Bean are committed to ensuring our national parks are accessible for generations to come through investments in technology and innovative solutions designed to help parks plan for the future and remain places that everyone can enjoy.
