Alpina Watches Partners with National Park Foundation in Support of America’s Rivers and Trails and to Inspire New “Alpinist” Adventurers

NEW YORK — Alpina, the original Swiss sports watch is proud to announce its support and commitment to the mission of the National Park Foundation (NPF), the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service. Alpina has entered into a three-year partnership with the National Park Foundation in support of America’s national parks. In accordance with Alpina Watches’ commitment to outdoor adventure, a portion of Alpina's commitment will support NPF’s efforts to protect and enhance America’s rivers and trails in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the National Trails and National Wild & Scenic Rivers systems.

For over 135 years, Alpina has been committed to producing extremely robust sport watches that perform to the highest precision and with the greatest reliability in the most demanding situations. Inspired by the brand’s Swiss heritage and original watchmaking union whose members were known as “Alpinists,” Alpina looks to provide sportsmen and adventurers with the ideal watch for the outdoor environments that play a role in their everyday lifestyle. The brand’s “Alpinist” philosophy is shaped exclusively by the attitude required to perform in the reality of those most difficult natural environments, taking into consideration four key ideologies: be perseverant, think independently, trust your instincts and don’t forget your roots.

“Partnering with the National Park Foundation is a natural fit for Alpina given its history in adventure and the brand’s revolution of the modern sport watch,” said Lindsay Mellor, U.S. Marketing Director of Alpina. “Through our partnership with the National Park Foundation, we hope to engage with those who have a shared passion for adventure and the outdoors and encourage them to explore all three areas of air, land and sea.”

As its first brand partnership in the U.S., Alpina looks to not only support the mission of NPF, but also help lead the charge in engaging all Americans in support of these incredible shared treasures. Alpina and NPF will come together to build awareness of the recreational opportunities that parks, rivers and trails have to offer; furthering their shared goal to encourage people to get outside, explore nature and find time for adventure, and ultimately inspiring the next generation of “Alpinists” and national park enthusiasts.

“The National Park Foundation is an ideal partner for a brand like Alpina as it supports the very own trails and rivers that our consumer is exploring,” said Fernando Sanchez, U.S. Managing Director of Alpina. “We look forward to interacting with our consumer more and inspiring others to go out and reach their own summit.”

“Alpina’s new partnership with the National Park Foundation is perfectly timed for the ongoing rivers and trails celebration,” said Stefanie Mathew, vice president of corporate partnerships at the National Park Foundation. “Alpina is inspiring people to immerse themselves in the nature and history of our National Park System and support these national treasures.”

ABOUT ALPINA
THE ORIGINAL SWISS SPORT WATCH
ALPINE SPORTS WATCH MANUFACTURING - SINCE 1883
Alpina, famous for its red triangle signature, is a fine watchmaking manufacture based in Geneva, Switzerland. Founded in 1883, Alpina’s watchmaking history spans more than 130 years. A true pioneer of the Swiss watchmaking industry, Alpina has been the source of numerous patents and innovative calibers. Alpina invented the concept of the Swiss sport watch, as we know it today, with the birth of its legendary Alpina 4 in 1938. Today, Alpina is one of the very few Swiss watch companies, which develops, produces and assembles its movements entirely in-house. Alpina proposes five in-house calibers: the AL-980 Tourbillon; the AL-718 World Timer; the AL-950 Automatic Regulator; the AL-710 Automatic Small Date, and, most recently, the AL-760 Flyback Chronograph, featuring the patented “Direct Flyback” technology. And now the AlpinerX AL-283 caliber. Faithful to its long tradition of innovation, in 2015 Alpina introduced the first connected Swiss Made Horological Smartwatch, thereby creating a new watch category in the Swiss watch industry. Alpina’s mission is to design and engineer luxury sport watches that operate with the greatest precision and reliability possible in the most demanding sporting environments, like the Alps. www.alpinawatches.com #alpinawatches
