Inspiring the Next Generation at Glacier National Park

youth, 21st century conservation corps, glacier national park

Our national parks offer powerful in-park learning experiences such as the 21st Century Conservation Service Corps. Youth and veterans gain valuable training, skills, and work experience while also participating in important conservation and restoration work. At Glacier National Park, youth worked on a multi-year project to increase accessibility on the Swiftcurrent Lake Trail. The project, which began in 2011, allowed the young crew members to work this summer to continue to create a level trail that can be accessed and enjoyed by people of all ages. Learn more about our work and how you can support projects that allow more people to enjoy our national parks and provide valuable skills to youth.

This Month's Quiz

national park service, goparks, american memorial park

What NPS unit east of the Mississippi has the greatest number of natural arch formations? (Note: a true arch has an opening of one square meter or more).

And congratulations to last month's winner, Robert Otto, from St. Paul, MN, who knew that American Memorial Park, in Saipan, commemorates the servicemen and women, and local residents, who lost their lives during the most decisive battle, heralding the beginning of the end of the Pacific War.

Way to go, Robert!
