School is back in session and NPF is helping students stay connected to the nation’s largest outdoor classrooms: national parks. NPF’s Open OutDoors for Kids program now provides innovative distance learning opportunities, such as virtual field trips, that make classroom lessons come to life – wherever students are learning. Take a look at some of the unique hybrid learning experiences that the Open OutDoors for Kids program has made possible.

Building a Better World for Hardworking People

In honor of National Public Lands Day last month, NPF announced a partnership with Carhartt as part of the premium workwear company's commitment to building a better world with all hardworking people. The three-year partnership will help NPF support service corps through the Communities and Workforce initiative. Service corps provide a one-of-a-kind experience in a national park, on-the-job training, and the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build teamwork, and learn about public lands career paths.

Making Your Experience at Badlands Even Better

We are excited to share that, thanks to generous funding from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, NPF made a lead investment for a new visitor center within the Cedar Pass section of Badlands National Park. The new visitor center will provide more opportunities to learn about the park’s resources and help people connect with the past and present history, culture, and heritage of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and Lakota People.
