Youth Adventure Camp at Cape Cod

Race point beach on cape cod national seashore
The National Park Foundation supports youth from the boys and girls club in Chelsea, by facilitating Cape Cod snorkeling, camping, and canoeing adventures.

Writing about Cape Cod in the 1800s, Henry David Thoreau said, "A man may stand there and put all America behind him."

Thoreau walked the length of the great Outer Beach. Modern visitors can trace Thoreau's route along 40 miles of pristine, sandy beach protected within Cape Cod National Seashore.

Youth from the Boys and Girls Club in Chelsea experienced adventure as a lifestyle on Cape Cod. During monthly visits they snorkeled, canoed, camped, and learned about conservation and potential careers in national parks. As part of the project, students chose a conservation issue at the park and implemented activities to help.
