Mammoth Cave Park Restoration

Restoring Natural Habitats in Kentucky

This Impact Grant allowed for the planting of 150 Coffeetrees at Mammoth Cave National Park.

With this Impact Grant, Mammoth Cave National Park was ble to re-introduce 150 specimens of rare Kentucky coffeetrees into historic native habitat to ensure a viable population and maintain the genetic integrity of the species. Rare throughout its native range, the Kentucky coffeetrees numbers are declining due to over-harvest and loss of habitat.
