Blue Ridge Parkway Oral Histories

Honoring the Contributions of Those Who Built the Blue Ridge Parkway

An NPF Impact Grant allowed Blue Ridge Parkway to conduct an oral histories project, with interviews from people whose lives have been touched by the park.

A 2010 Impact Grant allowed Blue Ridge Parkway to conduct an oral histories project that captured an array of diverse experiences relayed by individuals who either had a personal, or employment, connection to the Blue Ridge Parkway over the course of its creation and existence.

The project fully documented eight interviews including stories from individuals who worked with the Civilians Conservation Corps in the 1940s building some of the first sections of the parkway.
