Arches National Park "Field Trip in a Box"

With an NPF grant, Arches National Park created "Field Trip in a Box" to educate teachers about national parks and reduce the necessity for NPF staff presence.

Each spring, Arches National Park receives a multitude of requests from teachers for curriculum-based ranger programs that they are unable to fill. The Field Trip in a Box program is designed to provide these teachers with the tools they need to give their students an educational experience during their visit without needing National Park staff present.

With NPF Impact Grant funds, Arches education staff created three field trip boxes based around park themes, state core curriculum and frequently requested topics. Themes chosen for the boxes include Microorganisms of the Desert, Desert Plant and Animal Adaptations, and Geologic Processes.
