Accessibility in Canyonlands Park

Increasing Accessibility and Reducing Erosion

To increase wheelchair accessibility in Canyonlands and Arches National Parks, NPF funded the construction of erosion control structures on park trails.

To increase accessibility opportunities within Canyonlands and Arches National Parks, the park reconfigured erosion control structures on a portion of the Windows Trail, to create an elevated causeway that is firm, stable, and suitable for wheelchair use.

The funding will support the necessary expertises in guidance on design and constructing accessible facilities throughout Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. This grant included improving access to cover trails, outdoor recreation access routes, beach access routes, and picnic and camping facilities.
