Photographing Biodiversity

NPF helped Canyonlands National Park purchase and place motion and heat sensitive cameras in biologically-rich land and share photos with visitors and staff.

The landscapes and geological formations of Canyonlands National Park never fail to impress visitors. The park is rich in biological resources; yet due to the shy, cryptic nature of mammals and their adaptations to the desert, visitors usually do not see park wildlife.

With NPF Impact Grant funds, park staff were able to purchase and place motion and heat sensitive cameras in selected biologically-rich areas. Photos are shared with visitors, park biologists and others interested in the biodiversity of the park.
