Mt. Rainier Provides Kids an Intensive Outdoor Experience
One of the oldest national parks, Mount Rainier was established in 1899. At 14,410 feet, Mount Rainier is the most prominent peak in the Cascade Range. It dominates the landscape of a large part of western Washington State.
Base to Basecamp was designed to provide teenagers from active duty military families and underserved youth from Seattle with an intensive outdoor experience at Mount Rainier National Park, completing a trail maintenance project that included educational, recreational, and career planning components.
