Connecting Youth With Rocky Mountain National Park

NPF's America's Best Idea was able to connect low-income youth with Rocky Mountain National Park with free visits and educational programming.

Rocky Mountain National Park introduced nearly 70 youth from low income families to the park by providing them with free outings that combined recreation and education in mountain safety and ecology.

Students were able to participate in ranger-led hikes, Leave No Trace demonstrations, and lessons in aquatic ecology as part of this America's Best Idea grant. These programs built a lasting bond between these youth and the national parks.
