Summer Fun in the Parks!

NPF StaffNPF Blog

Washington D.C. is home to a variety of national parks and monuments – it is also the home of the National Park Foundation headquarters. Living and working here in the D.C. area, we enjoy so many national park units representing some of our nation’s greatest leaders and places that tell critical parts of America’s enduring journey to liberty and freedom.

In the summer of 2012, national parks across D.C. hosted events attracting visitors from all across the world to experience the beauty and history that exists in the national parks of our nation’s capital. There have been concerts, outdoor movies, tours, and reenactments just to name a few!

There are still several weeks of summer left and LOTS more fun to be had in America’s national parks. We encourage you to check out the National Park Service calendar to learn more about park events taking place nationwide – and don’t forget to visit the NPF Facebook page to let the whole parks community know what is going on in your area!
