Washington, D.C. (June 20, 2012) – Summer is a perfect season to visit, celebrate and show your support for America’s nearly 400 national parks – and now, the National Park Foundation (NPF) is making summertime in the parks even more fun. As a way of thanking visitors, fans and national park supporters across the country, the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, is launching “Fan Friday” on www.nationalparks.org and at www.facebook.com/nationalpark.
Every week this summer, the National Park Foundation will issue a new national park trivia question. That Friday, NPF will reward a lucky winner who answered that week’s question correctly with an exclusive national park prize pack including national park gear, “America the Beautiful” national park passes, and more! To top it off, at the end of the summer NPF will select a grand prize winner who will receive airline tickets and a once-in-a-lifetime houseboat adventure in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area provided by Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas. Visit www.nationalparks.org/fanfridays to enter.
All summer long, the National Park Foundation is asking visitors and fans to share their national park stories, photos and videos from their own park adventures. Visit www.nationalparks.org/explore-parks and discover the hundreds of stories, photos and videos that have already been shared, plus learn the latest news, information, travel ideas for the national parks -- and what the National Park Foundation is doing to help protect America’s treasured places.
