WASHINGTON, DC (July 14, 2010) – The National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, today proudly announced that Macy’s “Great Give Back Campaign” raised $1 million for national parks this spring. The cause marketing campaign provided matching grants to customer donations for a total fundraising goal of $1 million. This amount is added to the $5 million already donated by the retailer and its customers since 2008.

"We are proud of our partnership with the National Park Foundation and share their emphasis on connecting youth with the majesty of our national parks. Macy’s “Great Give Back Campaign” kicked-off at the beginning of April and invited customers both online and in-store to support the national parks, with Macy’s matching each contribution. In addition to the fundraising campaign, Macy’s volunteers showed their support by participating in national park events nationwide during National Park Week, held April 17th to the 25th.
Macy's contributions have helped support programs including First Bloom which brings urban youth into the national parks to design and plant their own gardens; as well as Electronic Field Trips, which connect classrooms around the country and world to America’s national parks.
