Lindsay Gsell is the vice president of content strategy, overseeing NPF’s social media and storytelling strategy.  A strategist at heart, Gsell is at her best when she’s helping teams build consensus to solve challenges and set ambitious goals. Combined with a passion for efficiency and process, Gsell brings an operational lens to marketing and storytelling.

Prior to her time at NPF, Gsell worked in the digital agency space for over a decade. Her most recent role was leading the WPP-owned boutique digital creative agency ISL. In addition to heading up the strategy group there, Gsell served as the managing director, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office and team. Gsell has a track record of managing multi-million dollar portfolios and teams of engagement, paid media, content, and creative strategists. Her past clients included Kroger, Boston Beer Company, Treasury Wine Estates, the National Associate of REALTORS, Capital One, and Wawa, among others.

Before “social media specialist” was a real job, Gsell earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, concentrating in digital reporting, and got serious about storytelling. She got her start as a writer for the U.S. Department of Energy’s blog, where she highlighted energy efficiency and renewable energy project grants from around the country.

In her off hours, Gsell is a licensed tour guide who write and curates female-forward guided history tours in and around Washington, D.C.
