Michelle Lane is the vice president of government relations, overseeing the organization’s strategy for executive and legislative branch engagement and communications. Lane brings with her more than a decade of experience in the public policy arena. Most recently, she served as Professional Staff to the United States Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, with a focus on parks, federal land payments, and sportsmen’s issues. She was essential in the negotiating, drafting, and enactment of the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act (P.L. 116-09), as well as the National Park Service Centennial Act (P.L. 114-289). Before joining the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Lane served as both a legislative assistant and then legislative director for Rep. Dan Benishek (MI-01, retired). Originally from Arizona, she graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor of science in human and organizational development, and now lives with her family in Alexandria, Virginia.
