Giving Thanks for Giving Back

The holiday season is about sharing gratitude, connecting with friends and family, and reflecting on what’s most important in our lives. At NPF, one of things we’re grateful for each year is the opportunity to be a part of the annual Subaru Share the Love Event. Underway now through January 4, 2021, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer's choice of participating charities, including the National Park Foundation, for every Subaru purchased or leased during the event. After 13 years, Subaru will have donated over $200 million to charities like the National Park Foundation during the Share the Love Event. Visit Subaru of America’s event page to learn more and find a local retailer near you.

Our partnership with Subaru is a powerful model for the positive impact private support can have on our parks. Through the National Park Foundation, the Subaru Share the Love Event has provided funding for critical programs and projects across our more than 400 national parks, from connecting kids to parks, to supporting newly established national park sites, to helping increase public awareness and engagement across our National Park System.

In more recent years Subaru has been at the forefront of efforts to increase sustainability and enhance environmental stewardship in our national parks by sharing their zero-landfill expertise in a pilot program at three iconic national parks – Denali, Grand Teton and Yosemite. This collaborative effort has resulted in eliminating more than 16 million pounds of waste from landfills! Lessons learned from these three parks are being used to help further sustainability efforts across our national parks. Check out the information below to learn more and see how you can be a part of the solution.

When you select NPF as your charity of choice during the Subaru Share the Love Event, your support is helping us continue to protect and preserve our national parks for generations to come. All Americans should have the opportunity to experience our national parks and explore their own connections to these special places. They are places where people find their serenity, their moments, and their adventures. Check out some of our favorite stories on how people connect to parks, proving America’s national parks are as unique and varied as the people who love them.
