About Us
For more than 100 years, private philanthropy has been helping to improve, preserve and protect America’s national parks. For almost forty years, and without federal appropriations, the National Park Foundation–chartered by Congress as the only national charitable partner of our parks–has sustained this legacy of private philanthropy.
The mission of the National Park Foundation is to strengthen the connection between the American people and their National Parks by raising private funds, making strategic grants, creating innovative partnerships and increasing public awareness.
First Bloom is a powerful new initiative from the National Park Foundation designed to grow the next generation of national park stewards. First Bloom intersects, connects and enlivens everything the National Park Foundation does on behalf of national parks by instilling a sense of pride of place and a commitment by children and their families to continue to protect and nurture the habitats that private citizens help to create.
