Alisa's Scrapbook

One rolling water bottle

For a short time I, Alisa, lived in Denver. While I was there my then boyfriend, Peter, came out to visit from Ohio for a long weekend road trip of Colorful Colorado. Our first stop was at the Great Sand Dunes. We walked across the Medano Creek and climbed up the dunes with intense winds that seemed to push us back more than each step forward! We finally made it to the top and were overcome by the gorgeous view. Beautiful whisking sand and mountains with patches of snow for as far as we could see. While taking it all in I didn't notice my water bottle roll down the other side of the dune! I was exhausted but knew I shouldn't leave it there because we should protect beautiful places like this before it's too late. Before I knew it Peter was running down the dune to get my bottle. I know it's only one bottle but it still makes a difference. If we all left one water bottle it would truly be tragic for future generations not to be able to enjoy it the way we did. I snapped this picture of Peter right after get grabbed the water bottle and headed back up. I can honestly say that this trip is the moment I knew we'd get married. He loves adventure, nature and cares about our planet just like me. This September we will celebrate our second wedding anniversary!
