The wonder of wilderness

While I grew up exploring the woods from the time I could walk, my son has always been a city boy. His first time looking down over the valley, he stood and stared without movement, taking it all in with eyes filled with amazement. Months later he still asks to see pictures from our trip and talks about someday climbing half-dome. This trip has opened up a whole new world of possibilities to him and given him a true appreciation for the wonders our world has to offer. We have decided that we will make visiting a national park a yearly tradition and are already making plans for our next trip to Pictured Rocks.
