Janet's Scrapbook

Bittersweet

After a five year battle with ovarian and breast cancer, my sister, Betsy, died on Christmas night 2006. The next summer, our eldest sister and I decided to take Betsy's daughters and my son on what we hoped would be a trip of healing and renewal and something we all desperately needed, just plain fun. It turned out to be all that and so much more! We watched a 4th of July parade and fireworks in Springdale, Utah. We swam in a secret swimming hole in Zion National Park. We visited a ghost town in Grafton, Utah. We hiked into and out of Bryce Canyon National Park. We trudged up and slid down Coral Pink Sand Dunes. And we stood on the edge and were in awe of The Grand Canyon. But most importantly, we were reminded every single day, at every turn, and at every glorious sight to stop, and breath, and enjoy the moment and each other. And, we had fun!
