The Confluence - Canyonlands National Park

In March of 2014 Nick and I took an adventure to Utah. One of our stops was Canyonlands National Park. During our drive to Utah I saw a photograph of the Confluence, where the Colorado and the Green River meet and immediately I knew that we HAD to see this no matter what it took. So once we made it to Canyonlands we laid out our supplies, got our packs set and headed out for the 10 mile hike through the canyons. This was the most amazing day hike of my entire life, climbing metal ladders, watching tiny lizards scurry about, viewing "biological soil", and more ascents and descents than I could ever imagine. It left me both exhausted and exalted. When we made it to the overlook I was in complete awe. Thousands of feet below me where two incredible forces of nature diving into eachother with complete ease. We watched tiny ant sized kayakers navigate their way through the different colors of the rivers as we ate our humble lunch. I will never forget dangling my feet over the edge of the outlook, thinking of the extreme forces that carved this landscape and how years from now I hope this place is still untouched and filled with mystery.
