Hiking the Beautiful Grand Tetons

One summer, a friend and I got the chance to camp and hike Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Yellowstone is awe-inspiring, but the Tetons are so beautiful! I had been to Rocky Mountain NP several times before, but there's something raw or wild about the Tetons I don't see in RMNP. Maybe it's the fact that you don't pass multiple ski resorts on the way! We took a day to hike up past Jenny Lake and really get in close & personal to the scenery. Unfortunately, one of those sudden mountain rain/sleet storms hit us, and we were very late getting back to camp. The ferry had ended operations, so we had to take the long way around the lake. In the dark. Cold and wet. Imagine our shock when we literally stumbled into a herd of mule deer who had bedded down on the trail! I don't know who was more frightened, them or us, but we all managed to keep from getting hurt! It was a crazy end to a trip, but I want to go back anyway!
