Grinnell Glacier Overlook

I had been excited to explore the sights and hikes in Glacier National Park for several months while my boyfriend and I planned our trip. We had several hikes planned, but taking the Highline Trail to Grinnell Glacier Overlook was a spur of the moment trip, and certainly has become one of our most memorable hikes.

This is certainly a challenging trail as it follows narrow cliffs along several mountains in the park. As we arrived at the last 0.8 mile to ascend the overlook, I was daunted to see we would climb roughtly 900 feet including a rock scramble in the end. This picture was taken after I sat down to take a rest and enjoy the simply stunning views we found at the top. I was amazed to overlook 2 glaciers and 4 lakes perfectly placed in the valley below. I later learned this point is directly on the continental divide. This was one of the more challenging hikes I have completed and was certainly worth while to take in such gorgeous scenery. I certainly feel blessed to have experienced such an amazing trip to Glacier National Park.
