Dinosaur National Monument Impact Grant

The world-famous dinosaur quarry at Dinosaur National Monument is a display of 1500+ bones exposed in-place. Because of natural uplift, the fossil bearing sandstone layer dips at angle of 70 degrees and there is an extensive system of cracks that crisscross the quarry face. This Impact Grant project will bring together experienced paleontology staff at DINO and outside professional fossil conservators to examine the site first hand and study existing records of excavation and fossil conservation for the quarry.
