A First Hike: 36 years later
Visited Catoctin Mountain Park on October 4, 2008
Thirty six years ago, my parents -- John and Sharon Kennedy -- took me to Catoctin Mountain Park in Maryland for my very first hike. We 'hiked' together to the charcoal exhibit.
In October 2008, my parents and I again went to Catoctin, but this time it was to take my son Alexander on his very first hike. (Well, actually, I did most of the hiking.)
We visited both Cunningham Falls State Park and Catoctin Mountain National Park. It was a fabulous day; it was so exciting for all of us to be on a 'first hike' again. There is nothing quite so beautiful at Catoctin in the Autumn.
