Super Junior Ranger

Visited Adams National Historical Park, Canyon De Chelly National Monument, Chaco Culture National Historical Park, Crater Lake National Park, Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve, Grand Teton National Park, Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site, Lassen Volcanic National Park, Lava Beds National Monument, Petrified Forest National Park, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park, Yellowstone National Park on November 7, 2008

My daughter, Carly, is six years old, and in the past 18 months we've visited thirteen national parks - and we have the Passport stamps to prove it! She's learned a lot through the Jr Ranger program (she's a Jr Ranger at all but two of the parks she's visited), and can often be found picking up trash around her school when other kids are playing at recess.

One of her favorite stories is seeing a bear eating berries along the trail to Tokopah Falls last summer. We watched it for about 10 minutes before it ambled off to another berry patch.

She's hiked steep trails in Grand Teton and caved in Lava Beds. She's seen pictographs in Canyon de Chelly and geysers in Yellowstone. And she just announced her intention to start backpacking this summer in Yosemite!

Thanks for a great National Park system, and the Junior Ranger program!

Regards,
Chris and Carly Jensen
