Sequoia NP the nicest park in US
Visited Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park on April 3, 2008
We spent a whole 11 days at a campsite set on the foothills of Sierra Nevada mountains, home to the giant sequoia trees. We really loved this place. We devoted 5 days to walk the trails of the Giant Forest and enjoy the presence of those gigantic trees, some of them about 3000 years old! Some roads to exhibits are still closed, so we hiked, took a look at the drive through log and other huge stumps and living trees. The rest of our time we enjoyed the trails close to our campsite. The nature here is so beautiful, green lush mountain, mountain rivers and meadows. Weather was really in our comfort zone. In addition to all this we observed and took some great shots of wild animals from up close. A herd of deer and a bobcat were hanging out in a meadow. Then up in the snowy sequoia forest we spotted a coyote, which seemed quite friendly. We kind o befriended all those animals, including a bunch of squirrels and birds. Oh, and we found some deer antlers in the forest we were really wanted to keep it, but it belongs to the park. We haven't seen any bears though, I guess they were still asleep. Although every campsite is equipped with a heavy metal box to store all the food to prevent bears from accessing it. It's mandatory to keep the food in there year round. We had one of the best time in our life.
