The National Park Foundation’s New Mobile Resource Provides Instant Access to the Parks Near You Wherever You Are Including Directions, Weather & Real-Time Park Information

Plus Share Your National Park Photos, Videos, Stories & More

(Washington, D.C.) August 23, 2012 – In honor of the 96th birthday of the National Park Service on August 25th, the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, today unveiled the ultimate resource of national park visitors and supporters on the go.  Optimized for mobile devices, the National Park Foundation’s new www.nationalparks.org provides individuals a central source for real-time news, information, commentary, photos, videos and more on America’s nearly 400 national parks.  Plus wherever you are, NPF’s new mobile site provides the national parks nearest to you, along with directions and the latest weather. 

Now park visitors can also share their park experiences with the world!  By visiting www.nationalparks.org on your mobile device, you can now share your park photos, videos and stories – whether in the park, at home or on-the-go!  To support this, the National Park Foundation has released a companion FREE mobile app for the iTunes market, empowering Apple product owners to take and share their park photos with other park fans worldwide.   Between now and August 25th, the National Park Foundation is also encouraging park visitors and supporters to submit their birthday wishes for the National Park Service through their mobile devices by visiting www.nationalparks.org.
