NATIONAL PARK FOUNDATION AND L.L. BEAN’S MILLION MOMENT MISSION CAMPAIGN HONORED BY CAUSE MARKETING FORUM

National Park Foundation and L.L Bean Receive Cause Marketing Halo Awards
For Top 2012 Campaign

(Chicago, IL) May 30, 2013 – Today, the National Park Foundation (NPF), the official charity of America’s national parks, and L.L. Bean were honored for their Million Moment Mission Campaign with two Cause Marketing Halo Awards, a GOLD in the Best Environmental Campaign category and a SILVER in the Best Transactional Campaign category at the 11th Annual Cause Marketing Forum Conference in Chicago.  A total of 20 awards were given out to programs judged to be the best at doing well by doing good in 2012.

The Million Moment Mission campaign funding provided support for NPF programming that provides young children and teens unique learning opportunities inside national parks.  Often these programs are the participants’ first national park experience.   These NPF programs generate a great deal of interest in national parks and increase young participants’ understanding of the importance of stewardship, not only for our greatest historic, cultural and natural resources, but in all aspects of the outdoors.

“The National Park Foundation is extremely proud of this partnership with L.L. Bean and the important programs it made possible,” said Neil Mulholland, President and CEO of the National Park Foundation.  “The Million Moment Mission’s year-long campaign increased awareness and emphasized the critical importance of inspiring new outdoor enthusiasts and the need for private support for America’s national parks.”

More than one hundred programs were entered in this year’s Cause Marketing Halo Award competition.

“In this crowded marketplace, Cause Marketing Halo Award-winning campaigns have risen to the top because of their authenticity, effectiveness in communicating a cause message and ability to generate social and financial dividends,” said Cause Marketing Forum President David Hessekiel. “These campaigns offer creative partnership solutions that leverage assets of company and cause.”

Now in their eleventh year, the Cause Marketing Halo Awards are North America's highest honor in the field of cause marketing, awarded by the Cause Marketing Forum, a company dedicated to providing business and nonprofit executives with the practical information and connections they need to succeed.  Descriptions of all the Cause Marketing Halo Award winners can be found online at www.CauseMarketingForum.com/halo2013.
