Did you watch the season finale of Discovery Channel’s “North America” this past Sunday? (If you missed it, you can still watch it as it’ll be rebroadcast on Sunday, June 23 at 11amET!) For even more park inspiration, we have provided a handful of great tips for some of the national parks highlighted throughout the season!

Carlsbad Caverns National Park (New Mexico) – Of the more than 110 caves of Carlsbad Caverns, Slaughter Canyon Cave is one of the most accessible and awe-inspiring. You can only visit Slaughter Canyon on a reservation-only ranger-guided tour. Read NPF’s “Happy Trails” and “Owner’s Guide” for even more great ideas!

Everglades National Park (Florida) – Hike the Anhinga Trail (a wheelchair accessible path) that winds through sawgrass marsh with many opportunities to view wildlife. Look for alligators, turtles, and lots of birds! Read more here.

Glacier National Park (Montana) – Hike to Hidden Lake and not only will you find a jewel, but if you’re lucky, plenty of mountain goats to fill your camera! Read more in NPF’s “Parks for Play”!

Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve (Kansas) - Did you know that tallgrass prairie once covered 170 million acres of North America? Today less than 4% remains and most of it is found at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. Join us for a 90-minute ranger-led prairie bus tour and learn all about the tallgrass prairie ecosystem, geology, and American Indian and ranching cultures, all the while enjoying the wide-open vistas of the prairie horizon. For more information read NPF’s “Spring Fun In Your National Parks”.

Wind Cave National Park (South Dakota) - There are so many ways to explore Wind Cave, one of the world’s longest caves! Experience the cave by candlelight, enjoy a relaxing Garden of Eden cave tour, or challenge yourself to the most strenuous walking tour of both the upper and middle levels of the cave with the Fairgrounds cave tour.

Wrangell–St. Elias National Park and Preserve (Alaska) – Drive 55 miles along the Edgerton Highway to the historic town of Chitina for breath taking views. On your way, keep an eye out for the Liberty Falls Trail and stop to stretch your legs and admire the park's high peaks. Get more tips for three-day and one-week trips to this park here.

If you weren’t able to catch any of this new series’ episodes, don’t worry – you can still watch some incredible clips here, or buy the individual episodes here or purchase the DVD that’ll be out soon here.
