2012 Share The Experience Photo Contest
The Share the Experience Photo Contest is an annual photography competition encouraging all nature lovers and amateur shutterbugs to capture their favorite views, moments and adventures in the national parks and public lands.
Sponsored by the National Park Foundation in partnership with the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service, Active Network, Destination America, and Historic Hotels of America. The Share the Experience Photo Contest showcases more than 500 million acres of federal lands and draws entries from all across the United States.
2012 Winning Entries
The Grand Prize winning photo will grace the cover of the 2014 Federal Recreation Lands Pass. Click on the thumbnail images below to view the enlarged version of each photo.
Grand Prize: Bridger Teton National Forest (USFS) Katherine Hawkins
Ms. Hawkins will receive $15,000 and a Federal Recreational Lands Interagency Pass.
2nd Prize: Salt River Recreation Area (USFS) Sue Cullumber
Ms. Cullumber will receive $10,000 and a Federal Recreational Lands Interagency Pass.
3rd Prize: Isle Royale National Park (NPS) Adam Jewell
Mr. Jewell will receive $2,500 and a Federal Recreational Lands Interagency Pass.
Honorable Mentions:
Each of the 7 Honorable Mention winners will receive a hotel package courtesy Historic Hotels of America and a Federal Recreation Lands Interagency Pass.
